Expressions of Joy Performing Arts Institute is an independent organization which seeks to serve the entire community in its mission of promoting excellence and integrity in the arts through education, exhibition and performance. We are a distinctly Christian organization but unaffiliated with any particular church or denomination. Our students, faculty, staff and institutional clients represent over 40 different churches in the South Florida area.

The Institute arose from and now includes a dance academy teaching kids and adults how to use their artistic gifts for the glory of God. This academy developed out of the intersecting searches of founders, Josi Geyer and Tom Walker (on behalf of his daughters) for a dance ministry which offered both cutting-edge artistic quality and a spiritually dynamic (or even family-friendly!) environment. They couldn’t find such a ministry in 2005, but they found each other and the rest is history!

God has blessed Expressions of Joy in every way imaginable and has continued to grow the vision He gave to Tom and Josi. In just two years, the school’s “annual recital” has grown into a major production too large for the 650-seat theatre we have been using. Our outreach projects have created a need for trained dance ministers beyond what our studio alone can provide.
