Sondance Ballet Theatre (SBT) is a Greenhouse project and is a brand new, professional dance company created to present productions that celebrate and honor the Son of God through the medium of dance. We will draw together accomplished dancers who wish to use their gifts to glorify God and create a platform of artistic credibility from which to reach out to the community at large. The Christian dance movement is rapidly growing. Many churches have embraced dance as a legitimate form of worship and many dance ministries have been created. A few more Christian dance studios have opened. But at the advanced levels there are few options. With a few notable exceptions such as Ballet Magnificat (Mississippi) and Dramatic Truth (Missouri), dancers completing their studies have only secular options as professionals or pre-professionals. Sondance offers another option right here in South Florida! Our unique multi-cultural environment will give us a flavor like no other Christian professional dance company. This is great news for dancers and even better news for our community.

Sondance Ballet Theatre will be preparing a series of short presentations culminating in our first major ballet production.

Choose Life

Sondance Ballet Theatre began rehearsals in January of 2008 under the direction of Creative Director Josi Geyer, and the Ballet Mistress Erica Attwood. We have begun work on a short ballet program which portrays a crisis pregnancy, the devastation of abortion and the healing available at the cross. We will make this program available to churches and ministries when complete.

After more that a year of negotiations, Sondance Ballet Theatre has been granted the Adaptation and Theatrical Performance licenses by the C. S. Lewis Company. We could not ask for a better vehicle to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ in dance and to bring this message to the secular arts community. To God be the glory!
